About Me

Logan Nguyen

Hi, my name is Logan Nguyen. I'm a graduate from The University of Georgia with a degree in Computer Science. I have full-stack developmental experience ranging from frontend development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React and in the backend development with postgreSQL, Python, React, and Django.

To get to know a little about me, I fell in love with coding when I was introduced to the game Minecraft in 2010. This was my first hands on experience with Java as I was curious and developed mods for it by watching YouTube videos and following tutorials. This eventually lead me to pursue a degree in Computer Science. However, whenever I'm not coding during my free time, I love to listen and play music, play League of Legends, work out, trade stocks, read, and thrift / study fashion.

Finally, I hope to use my passion for Computer Science to reach my end goals whether that may be working as a Software Engineer, developing a program for the finance field, using machine learning to program an AI that can play Pokémon efficiently, or simply changing the world for the better.

Honeywell

Software Engineer Intern

June 2021 - August 2021

● Developed Honeywell’s first ever Site Reliability Engineering algorithm to forecast the future volume of influx users
● Used ML and AI applications to develop forecasted data from metrics such as Azure Blob Storage and Prometheus
● Improved Honeywell’s site to be 50% more efficient by being able to forecast data up to 15 years in the future

Projects

Logan Nguyen's Website

● This is a website that I was able to build from scratch
● Utilized the web development of HTML/CSS with my own personal design etched to my style as well with Bootstrap and Adobe XD
● This is hosted via GitHub Pages with a custom domain name that I purchased

Election Bot

● This project was a collaboration with a personal friend to create an election bot that prints out information on congressional districts, previous state elections, and census of all 50 states
● Shared the coding workload by coding this project with Microsoft Visual Studio Editor and the Python Language while simultaneously web scraping Wikipedia for election information
● Hosted this bot to run 24/7 via AWS servers and with the Discord Developer API

Matrix Calculator

● This was matrix program that was coded in C++ to do math operands such as multiply, add, subtract, and divide on matrices
● Used Microsoft Visual Studio Editor to code it initially and then transferred the code onto Unix to test out the calculator with a driver file
● Source code is in my own personal GitHub

Karen Bot

● Programmed a discord bot to respond to certain phrases or words from a server of users by using if else statements
● Also made the bot post from an arbitrary array of images within my computer’s directory by the usage of for loops when the bot was prompted via user.
● Coded this through using the Discord Developer API, and also by using Microsoft Visual Studio Editor and the Python Language
